There was a large turnout to the revival of the Town's annual newcomers' welcome event last week on November 9th. Co-produced with the Lunenburg Academy of Music Performance (Lamp) and held in their space on the 3rd Floor of Lunenburg Academy, this was first year since the pandemic. What a lot of new Lunenburgers we have!
There was storytelling, music, refreshments, and lively mixing and mingling. The "Lunenburg Initiation" of sauerkraut, Solomon Gundy, and Lunenburg Pudding was a hit.
Lunenburg's Town Crier Stephen Findlay, Mayor Matt Risser, and MODL Deputy Mayor Pam Hubley welcomed the attendees, while Liz Powers of Lunenburg Walking Tours provided a brief history of the area.
Lamp's artistic director Burt Wathen introduced a number of talented emerging artists who performed and answered questions: Arlen Hlusko, Kodak Quartet (Edgar Donati, Martin Noh, Blake Kitayama, Daniel Spink), Matthias McIntire, SoYoung Choi, Franki Carr, and Anna Han.
Welcome to everyone who has joined our community! We're glad that you're here.
