Town of Lunenburg Pride Flag Raising

Pride Week in Lunenburg County kicked-off this Sunday (July 6) and the Town of Lunenburg is pleased to once again raise the Pride flag in support of the week and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.

We invite everyone to join us on Tuesday, July 8 @ 2:00pm in the Town Hall Council Chambre for remarks and cake as we celebrate 2025 Pride Week.

WATER UTILITY NOTICE - Harbourview Drive

Public Works are testing a hydrant on Harbourview Drive.

Residents in the Centennial Avenue subdivision area might experience water discoloration or air in their lines.

We suggest running a cold water faucet into your bathtub of sink in case of any air discoloration until it runs normally.

TOWN of LUNENBURG ELECTRIC UTILITY CAPITAL UPGRADES

Please be advised that TOL Electric Utility Capital upgrades (Phase 2) will begin the week of September 8th, 2025, and will continue into October 2025.

This Capital Upgrade will include, new conductors, poles, transformers, secondary power lines and services along  Green St, Victoria Rd and Hall St, ultimately extending up to the new  location for Harbor View Haven .

During these upgrades, there will be times when short power outages will be required, however, efforts will be made to minimize the inconveniences to residents. Outage information will be provided by NSP or their contractors CAUS, and/or town employees.

The safety of both residents and workers is a top priority. Please use caution when traveling through work zones and follow all pedestrian traffic signs on sidewalks when in place. TOWN of LUNENBURG ELECTRIC UTILITY CAPITAL UPGRADES

 

The Town of Lunenburg Electric Utility Capital upgrades (Phase 1) will begin around July 2, 2025 and will continue into the fall of 2025.

The project will be completed in two (2) phases, involving the installation of new conductors, poles, transformers, secondary power lines and services along Kissing Bridge Rd, Maple Ave, Montgomery St in Phase 1, followed by Green St, Victoria Rd and Hall St during Phase 2.

During these upgrades, there will be times when short power outages will be required, however, efforts will be made to minimize the inconveniences to residents.

PARADE ROUTE & ROAD CLOSURES – JUNE 30

Please note that as part of the Royal Norwegian Naval Band’s visit on Monday, June 30, there will be a parade and some temporary road closures.

The parade will commence no earlier than 10:30am and will finish by 11:00am. It will start at the Museum Wharf and finish at the Cenotaph. The affected areas will include Bluenose Drive, Rum Row, Montague Street and King Street.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and cooperation and encourage you to come out and take in the event.
