Wondering what to do on Lunenburg’s Birthday?
Good news - It’s a full day of activities in Lunenburg this Sunday in celebration of the town’s 273rd birthday!

Next up, the Lunenburg Heritage Society will be hosting it’s annual Founder’s Day at the Knaut-Rhuland House Museum between 11am-5pm (with guided walks at 11:30am and 2:30pm) - https://www.facebook.com/KnautRhulandHouseMuseum
And don’t forget to stop by the Heritage Classroom at the Lunenburg Academy for some cake, sweet treats and tours as we celebrate Lunenburg’s 273rd birthday! It is also the fifth anniversary of the Heritage Classroom – it all starts at 1pm!

Notice of By-law Approval: Paid Parking By-law

At its meeting on May 26, 2026, the Town of Lunenburg Council approved an updated Paid Parking By-law.
The Town has long had paid parking in place, and this updated by-law repeals and replaces the former Parking Meter By-law to reflect current operations and technology. The new by-law supports modern payment options, clarifies parking rules and exemptions, and helps improve parking availability and turnover in high-demand areas while supporting the maintenance of municipal parking infrastructure.

Power has been restored to all of the areas affected by today’s emergency outage. Thank you for your patience and cooperation while this important work was being done.

The Town of Lunenburg Electric Utility (TOLEU) is advising customers of an emergency power outage to complete repairs to the Main Transformer at the Starr Street Substation on June 4 & June 5, 2026, affecting all of Town of Lunenburg Electric Utility customers at the following locations & times:
- Approximately 9:00pm to 10:00pm - Old Town and Industrial/Blue Rocks
- Approximately 9:00pm to 3:00am - Bridgewater/Victoria Rd, Newtown/Mason’s Beach and 1st Peninsula

The Front Harbour Boat Launch is open for the season!

Owned and operated by the Town of Lunenburg, the Front Harbour Boat Launch is provided each season and we ask that, for the safety and enjoyment of the facility, the following regulations be followed.
- The boat launch is intended for day use only
- When a boat is launched and secured to the floating dock, please move your vehicle and trailer to the Lunenburg Community Centre (15 Green Street0
- Please do not block the launch area
- Overnight docking is prohibited
- No swimming
- The Town is not responsible for lost or damaged items
- Please use at your own risk
