NOTICE OF PLANNED POWER OUTAGE - August 12

The Town of Lunenburg Electric Utility wishes to advise customers that Nova Scotia Power will be holding a planned power outage for transmission line repairs on AUGUST 12, 2026, effecting the The Town of Lunenburg starting from approximately 11:00pm to 7:00am the following day (weather permitting).

WATER SHUTOFF NOTICE - August 6

Due to a leaking water valve replacement, Public Works needs to turn the water off on areas of Fox Street, Duke Street, and Hopson Street to complete the repairs, on Thursday, August 6 from approximately 9am-4pm.

Public Works went door-to-door in the area to inform residents and we appreciate everyone's cooperation and patience. It is recommended that residents in the affected area turn off hot water systems as this outage continues.

Once the water service is returned, we suggest running a cold water faucet into your bathtub or sink in case of any air discoloration until it runs normally.

AUGUST 4, 2026 - 9:35am

We are aware of a power outage affecting homes in the Dufferin St, Falkland St and Young St area. Please be aware our contractors, Nova Scotia Power, will be doing emergency repairs on Dufferin St to a hydro pole and transformer to restore power. Restoration at this time is approximately 11:30am

Please drive with caution and follow Traffic Control directions.

Information about outages and restoration can be found on Facebook or the Town's website (www.townoflunenburg.ca).

In the case of medical, police, or fire emergencies, please call 911.

CLOSED MONDAY FOR NATAL DAY

Please note, Lunenburg Town Hall, and Community Centre will be closed on Monday, August 3.

Normal hours will resume at 8:30am on Tuesday, August 4.

ROAD CLOSURE - July 25 - KING STREET

 
Please note that King Street will be closed between Lincoln St and Cumberland St from 10am-6pm, Saturday July 25.
