Bluenose Drive Public Washroom is now open

The Bluenose Drive Public Washroom is now open for the season. It will be open every day between 8am-9pm until late October.

Additional Public Washrooms can be found at:

Town Hall (119 Cumberland St.)
- Monday-Friday from 8:30am to 4:30pm

Community Centre (15 Green St.)
- Monday-Saturday from 9am-5pm

Zwicker Building (146 Bluenose Dr.)
- every day from 9am to 9pm

Menstrual May - Town Hall Drop-off

Menstrual May is a community campaign focused on raising awareness about period poverty and helping ensure everyone has access to essential menstrual products. Throughout the month of May, communities come together to collect donations, support local organizations, and help break the stigma surrounding menstruation. Every donation can make a meaningful difference.
 
Residents looking to support the campaign can donate liners, pads and tampons at Lunenburg Town Hall (119 Cumberland Street) during normal business hours.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY

The Town of Lunenburg is looking to add to it's Public Works Department. The following position will be open until June 30, 2026 - PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT - WATER RESOURCE SUPERVISOR

CLOSED FOR VICTORIA DAY

Please note, Lunenburg Town Hall, the War Memorial Arena and Community Centre will be closed on Monday, May 18.

Normal hours will resume at 8:30am on Tuesday, May 19.

Council Approves Electric Utility Budgets

Council approved the 2026/27 Electric Utility Capital and Operating Budgets, including major long-term investments to modernize Lunenburg’s electrical infrastructure, improve reliability, and support future growth and increasing electricity demand within the community. Council also approved moving forward with the regulatory process related to potential utility rate adjustments tied to Nova Scotia Power rate increases.
