Public Dumping of Residential Garbage

Lunenburg Public Works crews are once again noticing residential garbage is being left in and around the public waste receptacles the Town has. Full bags of garbage are being left outside the front gate of the Municipal Compost Site for them to deal with. Please do not do this.

Public waste containers are NOT for residential waste. Dumping garbage on any public land is NOT permitted. Town property garbage collection is on the same days as yours from our contractor GE Environmental.

The weekly solid waste collection service the Town provides should be more than adequate for normal household circumstances. If you have more than the limit of 6 bags of waste or 1 bulky item, please store it until the next collection or take it directly to Lunenburg's contracted landfill site Kaizer Meadow in Chester (fees are currently $89.88/ton).

Kaizer Meadow also operates a household hazardous waste drop-off. Please CALL before your visit at 902-275-2330 to confirm they can take your materials.

Public Works staff thank you for your cooperation.
