At its meeting on October 14, 2025, Council gave first reading to a proposed amendment to the Land Use By-law (LUB) to rezone the Salt Meadows area. The affected area includes Wood Street, Whynacht Street, Adams Street, parts of Wolff Avenue, and PID 60731452 on Rudolf Drive.
The proposed change would rezone this area from Medium Density Residential (RM) to Low Density Residential (RL).
- Current (RM): Allows homes with up to four units (for example, duplexes or small apartment-style buildings) and accessory dwellings.
- Proposed (RL): Would limit development to smaller-scale housing, such as single-unit and two-unit homes, along with accessory dwellings.
The proposed rezoning is intended to better match the existing character and lot sizes of the neighbourhood.
