CULTURAL TOURISM ASSET MAPPING WORKSHOPS - JULY 9

Attention community members!

The Town of Lunenburg, with support from ACOA, is working on a Cultural Tourism Economic Impact Study to better understand how cultural tourism supports our local economy, businesses, and community — and how we can continue to strengthen and grow it in ways that reflect who we are.

This study builds on the cultural tourism planning already underway. This work is rooted in the understanding that cultural tourism isn’t separate from Lunenburg’s identity; it’s built on it. Unlike general tourism, cultural tourism emphasizes authentic connections with the local culture, from heritage sites and festivals to everyday traditions and artistic expression — the things that make Lunenburg unique.

Now, we’re taking the next step: identifying the cultural assets that define Lunenburg and quantifying their impact through an economic lens. This will help us better understand what supports our cultural tourism sector — and how to sustain and grow it for the future.

We will host three workshop sessions on Wednesday July 9th at the Zwicker Building. These workshops will help us identify the stories, places, traditions and events that make our community special.

Wednesday, July 9th

  • Zwicker Building

Attend one of three workshops:

  • 10am – 12pm
  • 2pm – 4pm
  • 6pm – 8pm

What’s next?

  • A visitor survey will follow through July to September to help us understand what draws people here — and how we can enhance their experience.

Your voice matters. Help us shape the future of cultural tourism in Lunenburg — together.

Let's Keep Lunenburg Clean!

We can all play a role in keeping our town looking sharp. One way is to make sure that household and commercial garbage are disposed of properly on the designated pick-up days.

If you missed your weekly pick-up, please do not leave your garbage and recycling by the public trash receptacles. These are for small items only and, as we host more visitors during the coming months, it is important to allow for increased usage (plus, it doesn’t look great).

If you are unsure of your solid waste collection dates, you can view the Town’s schedule - Garbage Collection - Town of Lunenburg

The Town of Lunenburg also has a FREE municipal compost site on Starr Street for your leaves, tree limbs, and garden waste:

Location: Starr Street Compost Site

Open Fridays | 1PM–4PM

Starting: Friday, April 25th until the last Friday in November

For Town of Lunenburg Residents Only

Thank you - your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
